And now that you don't have to be perfect, you can be good.

John Steinbeck

Okay! Soup’s in the crockpot (a McNeill tradition), bathroom has been thoroughly cleaned, kitchen is tidy, bedroom could use some work, vacuum still needs to be pulled out, but we’re in good shape. So why doesn’t it feel like Christmas? I’m not sure. For starts Conor is sick which is really quite horrible. One of the foremost rules of Christmas is to be healthy. Now I live in fear of getting the same thing he’s struggling with. I’m a little paranoid. Ha. I am glad I bought Clorox disinfecting bathroom cleaner that kills the flu virus (influenza A virus – Hong Kong). Hopefully it kills “brutal cold.” I am armed with lysol wipes, which I usually only use after dealing with raw chicken (I try to avoid bleach since I’ve ruined a fair share of shirts). We don’t have a tree, our decorations are rather meager and well it’s just us! So I guess we’ll just have to put on our most joyous Christmas faces and enjoy whatever spirit we can sap outta today and tomorrow! I can’t wait to have kids. I swear they’ll make Christmas real.

The Old Guy

Well despite my best efforts to hold off my shopping to the last minute so hopefully I would catch the Christmas spirit from the hordes at the mall, I too have had a difficult time getting into that Christmas groove.  It seems that I’ve just been too busy with other things to get that Christmas thing going.  Now certainly being sick during Christmas doesn’t help and I hope Coner gets better soon and there is nothing like a good soup to help with all that ails one.
By the way Katie ask your Mom about the soup she made in keeping with tradition.  It was so lite, its like it wasn’t even there…..
