And now that you don't have to be perfect, you can be good.

Christmas isn’t for another 11 months but sometimes it’s good to prepare ahead. For example, I recently ordered some Christmas fabric (on sale). I’m determined to make stockings for Conor and I in time for Christmas ‘08. I found a fabric that I absolutely and completely fell in love with.

It’s the holly berry fabric on the left. Cute, eh? But the place I ordered it from only had one fat quarter left!! I panicked. The fabric is by April Cornell, “Christmas Presence” collection for Moda and so I was to my computer in a jiffy searching for it. No luck. I haven’t found that same fabric with the exception of European sites (no way!). I did however find a very similar one, same designer, same everything! So I ordered a yard and was impressed with the price of shipping. It’s off of a website called Abbi Mays. Phew! That saved the day. I also love that plaid and am so excited for October to roll on through! This fabric is so lush; way better quality than what I usually work with and will definitely be a pleasure to sew!

Thanks Daria. I checked out ebay but suck at searching it!

I love the holly berry fabric. A stocking would look cute with holly fabric on one side and the Plaid on the other. With the addition of beads or bells or fur it might be fun to have a different side. What ever you decide i’m sure they will be lovely!

That fabric reminds me of some couch fabric we used to have on one of our couches back in the day – sans holly.

Mimi

love the retro/antique feel of the holly berry- can’t wait to se the finished product.
Pre- buying for next year? If I told you it would scare ya!  But I do have everything ready for nativity costumes to make for next year for all the grandchildren. Here’s hoping you are home to see them!

Katie

Here’s hoping Conor and I can provide the baby Jesus! lol. We’ll be home next Christmas no matter what!

Katie

Woo hoo! Totally won that fabric although I was the only bidder… thanks D!
