And now that you don't have to be perfect, you can be good.

John Steinbeck

Today I baked up and decorated down some cupcakes. It’s John’s 22nd birthday tomorrow (it feels like all 4 of us are getting so grown up… where does time go? It seems like only yesterday I was kicking him in the you-know-where and he was smacking my teeth out) so I thought it was only appropriate to celebrate with none other than sugar. My bro loooves sugar. Cupcakes it was and I even went the extra mile with different colours of icing and each cupcake has a numero “2″ on it! It was fun to shop for all that candy. Yippee! Check out also my artsy-fartsy pieces of art. I had a very good time mixing the colours. I did discover that if you mix red and yellow in a 1:2 ratio you get an adorable peachy pink. Alas, I had to add more yellow after declaring the colour a little too girlly.

Delicious! Those cup cakes are so pretty. I found some neon food coloring at the grocery store the other day and bought it. It makes homemade play-dough look like the store bought kind it’s so rad! Anyway we’ll make cupcakes when you caome back and use it for the frosting.

Okay, I admit it!  I was totally sugar stressed looking at these little yummies sitting on the counter all gussied up ! I knew full well that they were meant for John ( a worthy cause) but nonetheless a little depressed that none would pass our lips!

BUT!  Never underestimate Miss Katie!  The bottom photo shows what was left for the in laws!  Now THAT was Sweet!
