Monday night, we went to Fish Creek with some of the other young couples in our ward and enjoyed hot dogs and soccer. It was a real blast! I totally enjoyed the playing soccer part, except for when I got a ball to the ribs and then to the side of the face really hard. What made the ball to the face even worse was I was able to get my hand up to my face, but not quite against my face and so not only did the ball hit me, but I also slapped myself in the face a little. Ugh. Conor got a ball to the face as well and as a result has a slightly bruised and swollen nose. There was some speculation when we got home that it might be broken so off to the Urgent Care we went. After a couple hours of waiting, we found out that the nose was not broken after all. Yippee! I was worried that Conor would wake up the next morning with an uber swollen face and be unable to see. It was an eventful evening to say the least! I’m still recovering from the head and rib hits as well as falling on my hip while playing tag with Freyja. I sure feel like a old person!

07 May, 2008I hate to laugh at your misfortune…but the fact that you slapped yourself in the face in addition to the other injuries is just too much to hold in! I feel sorry that I laughed through this entire post. Man, you guys really got beat up!
