And now that you don't have to be perfect, you can be good.

Notes: I made both of the girls' outfits. For Holly's dress, I used this pattern. She also has a hat, but she's not really interested in it. She also has a crook which she loves and it makes a fine weapon. I made Greta's dress from this vintage pattern. The pattern for her hat can be found here and the pattern for her boots here. I decided to get smart this year and make the girls dresses that can be re-worn. Holly's dress has a 3-inch deep hem and can be lengthen for next spring. And Greta's dress she'll wear it through the winter and into the spring. It's going to hopefully be a heirloom piece though, so we'll be careful with it.

They look so sweet! the costumes turned out wonderful. I’m so sad that they won’t be trick or treating at my door tonight.

Alicia

They are soooo cute!  And you did an amazing job on those dresses!!!  If I ever have a little girl will you make me one?!!?  Love it!

Katie, hat a clever idea to make the dresses wearable again!
You have a gift for making the practical wonderful and the wonderful practical- love that you hearkened back to a more innocent time in choosing a nursery rhyme theme, too.
And the HAIR!  Oh my goodness!  Love the curls, ADORE the French Braids- it was so fun skypeing with you guys and Holly last night- there is nothing sweeter than the moment she greets us and having her tell us about her little life- especially how she goes ‘Reedy High’ - could listen to that phrase all day…what a dolly.  Sorry we missed Greta they must have been a pretty irresistible pair trick or treating.

mimi

oh one last thing! was just taking one more parting look through the pics- gotta say that Greta the great has got quite the range of expressions- the last pic totally cracks me up.

Somehow Katie you manage to be practical creative talented and genius and unique and penny saving all in one without a hitch. How do you do it woman?! It is beyond me.  I am however thrilled for you! Holly and Greta must have stolen the show in your neighbourhood. The costumes are beautiful and your girls are beyond darling. What fun.  Whats next year? come on admit it I know you already have it planned :)
