And now that you don't have to be perfect, you can be good.

My husband is the best. Conor encouraged me to leave the baby with him and go out and do some things I’ve been wanting to do. Yesterday I went to Joann’s, Pier 1, Sunflower Market and the bank. Honestly, it was wonderful. Then I came home and began a new project. I was inspired to make a spiderweb quilt, which I have since discovered is a huge amount of work! And the blocks I’ve completed are far from perfect. This quilt will hopefully be about 60″ squared and I think it’ll be perfect for picnics and pool days next summer. The reason why I choose this is because I wanted something that I can gradually work on. Obviously I don’t know myself.

These first 2 photos are of my first blocks. After completing those, I decided that I wanted to have a solid coloured center to make things a little easier. I think I prefer the look too since I’m not the best quilter around. I can’t decide if I’m going to use the first two blocks for a doll blanket or make 2 more blocks like them and make a baby blanket (for a gift, not for Holly). Each block measures 15.5 inches.

Oh how I’ve missed my sewing machine!

looks fun! it think the best thing is being able to use those creative juices! i have been on a roll this week, i can’t wait to take all the stuff back to rexburg and put it in our apartment! i am working on restoring a old door into a head board right now and i hope it turns out! hey and don’t worry the blog will be for photography and personal! i can’t keep the two apart anyways!
Katie i hope one day we live close to each other it think we would get along famously!

those look great! I like the solid center too. Looks like a lot of work! Can’t wait to see the finshed product! The 2 squares could even be a doll blanket as a christmas gift for a little girl!
Way to go! Mom with a mission!

Seriously ambitious project, Katie!  It looks really hard to me.  Good for Conor making sure that you get some ’ me’  time.  It’ll keep you sane.
