With my job, I follow the doctor around to different clinics. This morning, my services were enlisted and landed in Airdrie, however after an hour and a half of drive time and only making it as far as Anderson and Acadia I just had to call it quits! My car was getting a little over-heated and nothing was moving. Honestly I think it would’ve taken me 4 hours to get to Airdrie if I was lucky! I feel really bad about not going to work, but when I dropped by my mom’s office to use her phone and was finally off the roads for a minute I realized just how stressed and scared I was. This stupid snow storm caused hundreds of accidents, 16 causing injury and 189 causing property damage. Um hello! Not safe! I figure it’s way better that I went home and stayed safe rather than risked it although I’m probably a little bit of a scaredy-cat. But to be honest, I don’t get hugely frightened when it comes to winter driving. I try to be cautious and have had my initiatory experience feeling me capable in the snow (trust me, fish tailing on the overpass from Crowchild to Glenmore and accomplishing a sound recovering definitely adds a boost of confidence!), but today definitely racked my nerves! And then come 4 pm, it starts snowing AGAIN! But have no fear Calgary, it is supposed to be sizzling this weekend. Look forward to a very summery CK!
