I've made a few skirts out of this skirt pattern - Mccall 3830. It sews up so easily. Have you noticed a pattern in what I sew? Quick and easy is key these days! I used a wool blend herringbone fabric that I've had for a while (again, pulling from my stash that's slowly growing smaller and smaller). This would be a good pattern for a beginning by the way.

Yay! Another something something for me. The pattern is Simplicity 2246 and I made a different view earlier this year. I love this pattern. And I love this shirt dress. I had to buy this fabric when I saw it - it's so cheerful! The pattern came together easily although it was a work in progress for at least a week. From start to finish, things take more time these days because usually at the beginning of naptime I need to do lunchtime clean up or something else comes up that requires naptimes hours. I can only do so much it turns out! But, I'm doing well at working through the fabric that I already have. I'm proud of myself for that! I would love to figure out a way to alter this pattern so that I can make some cute shirts (not shirt dresses). But, I don't have a body form (or really any place to put one for that matter). One day! Perhaps I'll come up with a way to make a shirt out of it anyways. I think I can with a little more trial and error...

Hooray! I made something for myself. Making for me happens a lot less these days. I cut this dress out at the end of November and meant to sew it in time for Christmas. But then Christmas projects took over my life and the dress remained tucked away until a couple weeks ago. The pattern is Simplicity 2246. I changed the sleeves - either I need to lift Greta more or dress pattern sleeves are disproportionate. I've never been in love with my arms, but seriously? Anyways, if I make the dress again, I'd lengthen the sleeve and put in an elastic. The pattern has some other really cute views. I bought some floral fabric recently and I think I'll make it up with this pattern. Other than the sleeves issue, I really like this dress! I love the gathered skirt at the waist. It's really fun! And I love the metallic dot fabric I made it up in. The whole dress is a win-win. A good start to my new years resolution of making more for me.

Ahh! I finally made something for myself! The fabric I used I already had on hand. I love this pencil skirt pattern. It comes together so quickly and is so easy to wear. I think it's pretty chic too. Overall, I'm just thrilled to have made something for me. I hope to make a skirt and a dress for myself before Christmas. I hope... I put together a list of things I want to make the other night and the deadlines for each. It's an overwhelming list. I need either slash and burn or get pregnant.... Somehow, I can do pretty much anything when I'm with child.
