These little things are our touches of Christmas (besides the tree of course). Nice and simple. We could use a little more, but I like the idea of accumulating year by year. I think I'll spray paint our nativity figurines glossy white, either before I put them away or next year. I had grander plans for this year, but alas, I have two little children and I can't do it all. And that's okay. In the meantime, this is our little Christmas!

I love this poinsetta! And I love having something alive and fresh in our home. I'll have to find a full-time plant to replace it in the new year.Christmas decor

It's no secret that I love matryoshka dolls. I seriously love them. This year's ornaments for the girls are handmade felt matryoshka dolls with embroidery. They turned out darling! I feel like each one clearly represents the child it belongs to. It took a little while to make them, but it was worth it. Holly loves playing with hers! I'd like to make some for Conor and I, but that's being thrown onto next year's pile. Whew, next year's pile is becoming huge!

I love crawling babies! Greta's especially adorable because she snorts.

10 months. Only 2 more months until she's smashing a cake. I can hardly believe it! Greta is crawling now! She finally decided that she would do it not too long after her doctor said that she may never crawl. She decided to do it and then within a week, she was crawling fast and crawling all the time! At first, she "lumbered" along, but quickly perfected her skills. She "extreme crawls" as I like to call it. She likes to crawl over everything, our legs, pillows, her sister, toys. And she loves trying to weave her way over the legs of our pedestal table and through the chairs. Nearly everytime she tries to shimmy through the chairs, it ends in tears. In the last month, Greta started to pull herself up at things, her favorite being the shoe baskets and Holly's bed. She also ocassionally do a bear crawl pose, usually when she's ticked about something. Greta can also sit herself up all by herself. If you say, "no" to Greta, she will drop her head to the floor and cry. She will drop her head to the floor when she's tired too. She's very sensitive, very tender. Even saying, "no" gently will bring tears. Which is a problem because sometimes Greta thinks it's funny when she spits her food out all over whomever is feeding her. Greta used to sleep through the night.... but she stopped. Greta is a Momma's girl big time! And most of the time, I love it. I love it when she crawls to me and then pulls herself up onto her knees and hangs on to my leg. She's so cute!

I made the girls Christmas dresses from some fabric that I've had for a while. I think they turned out pretty cute! Holly's nursery leader thought it was funny that Holly was wearing holly. It was really fun to make these dresses and to dress my girls up. Just don't look to close. I cut corners for sure!
