Meet Holly’s Thanksgiving pinafore. I love this. Conor loves this. Best part is, it only took a few hours to sew. I’m going to make a collared dress to go underneath it and booties to match. I adore this fabric!

30 weeks looks round. It feels achey and sore. Washing floors on my hands and knees is something I can no longer do as I learned today. It’s good and bad.

While Conor’s getting hot and heavy with anything grill related, I’ve been keeping busy sewing. I decided to dash anymore projects I had intended for myself and get started on baby clothing! Last week I made some knit pants for Holly – 2 navy blue and 2 pink, one of each colour in 0-3 months and 3-6 months. I couldn’t resist adding some ruffles to the bum of the pink ones. I’m totally loving it! I did, however, resist making the navy blue ones girly just in case we get a boy next time around. And even though Conor dislikes headbands, I couldn’t help but make one! I’m waiting to finalize the length until Holly’s born. We were able to pick out her head earlier this week during a couple of days in which she had flipped around and it felt big!

And just because I love this fabric, here’s what I’m making my diaper bag out of:

I also managed to make a dress with a matching pinafore and diaper cover. It’s all wrinkly from the wash though (pictures later, when I feel like ironing… ha). And tonight I cut out another dress, pinafore and diaper cover combo for a fall/winter dress. So much to sew, sew little time!

I grew up with a family that often grilled. The McNeills have an ongoing family tradition of burgers every Saturday night and my stalwart Dad was sometimes stuck in the pouring rain “manning the barb-e.” With the help of Martha Stewart Living‘s June magazine, Conor and I decided that we needed a grill. I’ve been wanting one so I can have the heat outside rather than in and I love grilled food! So our new grill is our early 3rd anniversary gift to each other – we figured there was no point in getting one in the middle of August when the grilling season is halfway done!

That, my friends, is one happy man!

Hello! My fabulously talented SIL, Elizabeth, is doing an incredible giveaway. She’s made the most gorgeous quilt from the Darla line by Tanya Whelan.

I’m in love with the colours and although it’ll go perfect with what I’ve chosen to do for Holly, I’ll let you all know about it too since there are 6 wonderful runner-up prizes. Head on over to Pigtails and Snails to leave a comment to put yourself in the running. Honestly, you do not want to miss this.
