I already had the book with pattern and I already had the fabric so it made sense to make Holly a hat rather than buy one. I think she'll wear it. I like how it turned out! Most colors look great on Holly, but blue happens to be her favorite. (Her other favorites are pink and purple.) I read somewhere that the majority of skin damage via sun happens during childhood so I try to make an effort to protect my children. I'm not excelling, but each spring I renew my determination!
The pattern was really easy to put together. A beginner could definitely accomplish this!
