This past weekend, Conor and I went on a little trip south without the girls. It was awesome! I thought I'd miss the girls more than I did. I found it surprisingly easy to forget that I have children and just enjoy being with the man I love. California is so beautiful and I really liked the groomed beaches of southern California. I think one of the best things about the weekend was the lack of schedule. We could stay up late and sleep in. We didn't have to eat meals at specific times, nor did we have to work around bedtime. We could meander in and out of shops - I wasn't worried about efficiency. It was a lovely break. That said, the last couple hours of our drive home felt like forever because I was so excited to see my girls again. When Greta saw us, she looked shocked and then she was happy with every part of her body, kicking and flailing her arms. She was extremely lovey and it was a real treat. Holly was pretty chill about it, after all she was around her friends. But the next morning she wanted to chit chat and cuddle. And, she's thrown some pretty killer tantrums. I think it's safe to say that she missed us and doesn't want us to leave again anytime soon. Lucky for her, we're headed south again next month and the whole family is coming! I love living in California!
