I want to be a more involved parent, especially with my childrens early learning. Crafts and activities for young children don't come naturally to me, so it'll take some work and research. I plan on posting at least once weekly of our Momma Summa School, you know, to keep me accountable. I'm hoping that with time, I may have enough flowing creativity to come up with my own stuff, but until then, the world wide web is full of good crafts and activities.

Our first craft was to help Holly solidify her shapes. Sometimes she still mixes them up, even though she knows them. I cut a whole bunch of shapes out of color construction paper. We mixed them up and then sorted them into piles. And then Holly pasted them onto a sheet of paper. She loved using the glue stick and she layered those shapes like crazy! When she had pasted all of her shapes, she flipped her sheet of paper over and requested more! I was happy to oblige. I also glued some shapes on popsicle sticks so I could quiz her. Holly quizzed me a few times too and she loved it, especially when I faked wrong answers. Greta colored shapes, her tray, her pants and her body with markers and was happy as a clam. All in all, we spent almost an hour working with our shapes. It was wonderful and I felt like such a great Momma!
