For Holly's halloween costume this year, I want her to have curly hair. This weekend, we bought some sponge curlers and gave it a try. Holly got to eat popcorn and watch a movie while I put them in and then when she was resisting sleeping with the rollers in her hair, I asked her if she wanted to have hair like one of her friends. And told her that she needed to leave the rollers in if she did. Ta-da! The next morning, all the curlers were in (which is more than I can say for Greta - the little stinker!). Oh my word! Did Holly ever look adorable! Do you know that it's impossible to get upset with a little girl that has beautiful, bouncey, blond curls? It's absolutely impossible. You can see why below. When we facetimed with my Mom to show her Holly's 'do, my Mom cried. You see, she used to do my hair in curlers. I think there was more to it than that, but there's one layer for you.

OH I love Curler hair!!! her hair is getting so long to be able to do that!! I would do Vienna’s but can you imagine how many that would take!!!??
Oh and Holly is the most interesting mix of you and Conor , because she doesn’t look at all like your 2 yr pic! However you mixed her, she is irresistible!

I actually think you could have been younger than 2 because that photo was taken at the U of C housing and we moved out in June 1990. I probably took that photo the first time I did your hair in curlers and as you were wearing a blanket sleeper that means it was cold at night…. 18 months to 2 years old is my best guess.

Holly is beyond Charming.  So fun to see you when you are near that age.  You are such a good mom.  I am thinking about putting curlers in my hair for my halloween costume…. i am doing an 80’s thing…  hmm…

Holly looks like she was pretty tickled with the results too.  The one with the curler other nose reminds me of Catherine Nicole at that age, though in our family it was pin curls instead of rollers. Love that Holly got your chin dimple. 
Who is she going to be for Halloween? She’d make a sweet Shirley Temple!
