Greta has decided to walk! Every day she takes more steps and every day she's a little more steady. Greta thinks she's the best thing since sliced bread. She is so dang pleased with herself! And by the way we all cheer for her, Holly included, it's no wonder! I think watching my children learning how to walk is one of my favorite parts of motherhood so far. It's so exciting! And their little personalities shine in a whole new way. Greta, I love you!

I don't do a lot of sewing for boys, obviously. If we ever had a son, I think my little family's world would be rocked! Anyways, it's a bit of a treat when I get to sew something for a lad, and this baby hexagon quilt was no different! I made it for our dear friends, Melanie and Ryan. Their little guy is due any day! I loved working on this quilt and I'm happy with how it turned out, even if it is a little Settlers of Catan (total coincidence I swear!).

Ah, birthdays! Holly's friend had a birthday recently and instead of buying a gift, I decided to make one. I made a little art smock from the Oliver + S Little Things to Sew book. I didn't follow the directions completely, but it tunred out great and functional. I made it in size 4-6, which is kind of big, but I wanted it to last. I plan on making some girl ones, and I'll hem those so they're a little shorter and fit a tad better. I love handmade things! (By the way, I've been making like crazy over here so there will be lots of sewing posts!)

After the wedding reception, we went to a little park in Beverly Hills with Conor's parents. Holly loved the big fish in the pond! It was great to spend some relaxed time with Catherine and Jim. After Elizabeth and Nicole were finished taking photos, we grabbed them and then had a little Pajama party at their hotel room. It was a great day!
