Hello Friends,
Please vote for Melanie's Modern place setting over at the Dwell Studio Blog. I took the photos and we're splitting the goods! Holly's newly painted room could really use some cute Dwell Studio items.

This year's tree-cutting expedition was much different from last's. First, we actually cut a tree. And Second, there was no snow and the weather was so warm! We found a most excellent tree and we're very excited to trim it tomorrow evening. I love having a real tree and I don't think I could ever have a fake one even if it means just buying one from a tree lot. Holly was giddy with excitement when we put the tree up in our living room. I have a feeling this Christmas is going to be really fun!

Ah, where has Katie gone? The last 5 days I've been sucked into the Holly vortex and have discovered what it's like to be the mother of a toddler who really isn't feeling well. Today, things are finally looking better. Holly and I have never done so much cuddling and crying! A lot of my progress has come to a halt and I know it's going to be tough to work up steam again especially with it being Thanksgiving and all this week. Our curtains still aren't done, which isn't my fault. I had some rods picked out and have been waiting for them for 2 months only to find out they won't be happening. So I found some other ones, but they aren't available to ship until mid-December. The nursery still isn't completed. I was really hoping to have carpet put in today, but the trim and closet are still calling for attention. I consider it a miracle that I've been able to keep bathed and fed the last few days.
I'll leave you now with photos of Greta's quilt. It's coming together so well! I love it when something I'm working on keeps getting better and better! I've begun hand quilting it and I'm so in love. Until next week...

Who says you can't do it all? Playing "Daddy" during the day and "Mommy" at night. Judging by her responses, Holly has the most interesting and amusing conversations ever when on the phone. And she obviously loves to multi-task; pushing around her chair (she piles the funniest things on her chair), carrying her purse and having a conversation all at once!

PS: we learned our lesson. Holly can't play with Daddy's keyboard unless it's disconnected from his computer. Also, I have no idea where Holly gets her love of phones. I'm hardly ever on the phone!
My husband is 26. I can hardly believe it. To celebrate his lingering youth (and metabolism) we had a day of delicious food. Eggs Benedict, Paninis, and French Dip Sandwiches.
