Ooowee! I found the cutest little teacups! They are so adorable and so unaffordable that I just can’t help but love them! And want them as well. They come in sets of 10 celebrating each decade for the past century. I think the 1900-1940 is my favourite collection; the polka dot cup and saucer duo are tugging at my heart strings! However, the lilac cup and saucer in the 1950-1990 set is also getting me!

Can anyone guess what I’m thinking about beginning to collect? I really honestly do love these sets… and you know, Christmas is coming up! wink wink

In case anyone hasn’t noted, my obsessive nature flares the most when I’m sewing, driving me to finish a project in 48 hours or less. Crocheting is the same; I am consumed by these projects and only released when they are completed. Such it is with this quilt that I have begun quilting by hand. Yes, I told myself over and over that this would be my summer project and would probably take 4 months or so. I thought I would be okay with that and just pick it up any time I sat down and therefore slowly whittle at it. But no. I will purposefully put a movie in so that I can quilt. I took the quilt with me on our temple trip and quilted the whole way there and back today. All I want to do is quilt! Yikes! Maybe these long-term projects aren’t such a good idea???

It’s been a while and a surprising amount of interesting events have happened! I’m going to take a break from hand basting a quilt sandwich:

to tell all you that read my bloggity goodness about my life lately. The best occurance to report is the newest member of our little Muirhead family. I’m very excited to introduce our brand new car!

We’ve had our ‘08 Dodge Caliber for eight whole days and absolutely love it! Lucky me, I get to drive it most of the time since I work outside of the home. It is such a dream to drive and although I was feeling uber nervous to drive it at first, I’m beginning to feel more comfortable. I am so smitten by this car. Every time I get into it, I’m amazed that we could be so fortunate to not only have such a great car but also that this car is so perfect for us! It gets pretty much the same mileage as our old Jetta and it is so roomy. LOVE it! We’re still trying to settle on a name for our Sunburst (orange-red as Brigg’s calls it) caliber. Conor likes Morris and I like Hugo. Leave a comment letting me know which name you like best.

And Conor and I are living true to the saying, “out with the old, in with the new,” and have decided to bestow upon our eldest nephew, Dylan, Conor’s ‘64 Nova. Dylan turned 14 about a month ago so we figure he’ll have time to save up and do some work on the car before he turns sweet 16 and gets his license.

We were so excited to give Dyl the car and we can’t wait to see what he does with it!

Okay! Back to the quilt!

So far, so good. The field hockey season is going well. After the first game I was in rough shape however I’ve had two games two nights in a row since and I’m bouncing back pretty dang good! My hips are holding out! YAY! So far, we’ve tied all of our games, but get this: last night we played our game one player and a goalie short against a team that had a goalie and a sub and we still tied the game 2-2 and played most of the game in their end. It was the best game yet and SOO fun! I just love playing field hockey!

Look what happened today! We’re pretty much positive that it was an accident and some kid got spooked. Poor, poor Richmond. He’s really starting to show his age!
