Yes that’s right! I have a job and a job I feel rather excited about! I’m a pediatrist (foot doctor) assistant. I’ll be a receptionist and I’ll help out with minor surgeries and the healing process after major surgeries. I’m not going to lie, I hate feet, but I think I’m mature and strong enough to look past the disgusting foot and see the suffering human soul. I’m really looking forward to this since I’ll be getting so much experience! Yay! And I get to wear scrubs! Can it get any better? Haha!
I have to confess, I’m excited to be a Sugar Momma again but at the same time, I think I’ll really miss the homemaker life. I’m glad I enjoyed that phase of my life because it was short lived and has definitely passed.
We’re back to driving our glorious Jetta who we have named and fondly refer to as Richmond. Even though he needs a new muffler and the brake pads need to be replaced (nothing like braking and having the brakes pump back!), I just love him! Richmond is as old as I am (1988) and was born in West Germany. He isn’t fully acquainted with the metric system since miles are number one on the speedometer. We bought him the July before we were married (2006) for a solid $800 and have never looked back! The shifter is a little sticky and distinguishing reverse from first gear was super tricky in the beginning, but now it’s more common for us to mix-up first and third! Last night I told Conor that I wish I could drive this car forever! I love the outer design and fortunately the interior is pristine. I love sitting in Richmond and feeling like I have space without feeling like I’m in a van! Newer cars just don’t offer that kind of comfortability. But then again, I’m one of those who loves the late eighties, early nineties 3 series BMW. Oh Richmond, I’m so glad you’re standard and that we weren’t able to sell you last fall!

Unfortunately, the chiropractic assistant position fell through the holes. It’s too bad because I think I would’ve loved it and the people I would’ve worked for really liked me and wanted me to work for them but the going back to Denver came out of the bag and so that definitely sliced my opportunity. I’m really choked about it and my self-esteem is a little low, however I must continue to push forward and trust in the Lord. There are reasons behind everything that I do and everywhere I go whether it’s Denver or Calgary. Here comes a test of faith mostly because (and not limited to) I’ll stress and ulcer if I don’t! If anyone hears about a job opportunity that has “Katie” written all over it, let me know!
Last night, the McNeills painted the town red at Julio’s Barrio in Kensington. It sure was an inappropriate riot that was a ridiculously good time! I love that we’re all getting to be grown-ups (with the exception of my father) and can behave civilly for the most part and even extend that chivalry into a good time! Here are some shots of us:
Here’s a glimpse at a classic Alanna face.

Metal face Kimberly and her boyfriend Justin. I’m proud to say I helped complete that hair-do.

You know who being mysterious.

My ridiculous brother, John.

My Dad and Momma.

I am so excited to have met my newest Nephew, Finn Ragnar Larsen. He is so adorable! Apparently he’s a Muirhead, which makes sense to me since Cora was a Larsen and Finn looks different from Cora. He has a very creased brow which has made everyone think of Conor’s forehead and he has a wide nose with a little upturn like Nicole’s. So cute! Freyja was incredibly ecstatic to introduce us to her little brother; she could hardly open the door when we arrived because she was to busy screaming our names and bouncing up and down and then running between us and the baby as she asked us if we wanted to hold him. She was also very eager to be apart of the photos. Freyja is beginning to climatize well to the new atmosphere and the new little body in the Larsen home as far as I can tell. Over the top enthusiasms is better than tears. Cora was… tired when we got there. Poor thing. Although I’m always glad to get in my Cora cuddles. Here are a couple of photos:

Elizabeth has some more peaceful photos of the little guy from her hospital visit. You can check them out at her blog Pigtails and Snails. For me, this is definitely love at first sight and I feel utmost curiosity of what kind of man this little baby will become with such wonderful parents!
