In gym class I was taught that the prime time of a person’s life was in their early twenties. I personally did not believe this as I couldn’t see how on earth I could be more fit. Essentially I thought myself invincible. However, now, I believe. Not that I’m in incredible shape. Although I will be. I have decided that it would be a real shame for me to allow those active years to slip through my fingers. I’ve always been fit. But lately, due to a roller coaster of health issues, I haven’t been on top of my game. I’ve been on the up and up health wise (which I am so grateful for) and am ready to live in the prime of my life. I am ready to run forever! Yesterday it all began.

I went for a great run out in the sun and the crisp air. I felt so happy! I wanted to do cartwheels and flips. Ya, I felt like I could do a flip (I didn’t attempt it don’t worry). It’s hard to explain how happy exercise makes me. Let’s just say Conor certainly noticed that I was more cheerful. The way I think of myself changes. I don’t see a girl who’s kind of gone out to pasture. Instead I see this hot bod who went for a solid run and then did additional exercise.

Plus this is my time. Right now I can be a little bit selfish and dedicate way more time on myself. As long as Conor’s is fed I can spend as much time as I want on myself really. So I’m going to take advantage of right now (I’m hoping that blogging about it will up my commitment level). I’m sore today and my hips ache a little but my hips will always ache (I’ve accepted that my hips don’t quite fit together properly and therefore will always be tender). Other than that I feel good! More importantly I feel happy. Running is the answer to all of my problems. And it’s a new goal and will be a source of success that I can feel proud of. Say hello to the new me!

I have recently stumbled upon a GREAT website. Sew Mama Sew blogs each day in the month of November about a homemade Christmas gift. Now when I say “a” I mean they take one idea and give options. For example today is baby blanket day and 3 different tutorials are linked and there is also a pattern suggestion. Now may I just say brilliant! This is a fabulous resource for wives such as myself when pinching pennies is becoming a game and almost thrilling. Each day I become more and more excited to discover what idea is to be revealed!

Every now and then I feel like the black sheep. I’m not working or a student, nor am I a mother. So where do I fit in or do I just break the mold? This weekend, as I rediscovered myself as truly a chose and bless-ed daughter of God, I also rediscovered a quote that I really needed! Here it is:

“The homemaker has the ultimate career. All other careers exist for one purpose only – and that is to support this ultimate career.”   ~ C. S. Lewis

Believe it or not. I personally am a Believer. It was much needed epiphany as I have struggled with my self-image. Conor would fall apart completely without me and would not be as successful. Without homemakers and mothers in the home, I believe that this world would fall apart and Satan’s grasp would be much firmer if not absolute. At the end of the day, I see that I have made the most honourable choice. I have chosen to be a Wife, a Homemaker and a Mother. What could be more wonderful? Although my accomplishments go without praises, awards, plaques or trophies, they will resonate into the eternities. What greater joy could I ask for?

Well I’ve been tagged by Daria, my SIL. Here are the rules:
1. Link to your tagger and post these rules.
2. Share 7 facts about yourself: some random, some weird.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post and list their names (linking to them).
4. Let them know they’ve been tagged by leaving a comment at their blogs.

So here it goes:

1. I played field hockey in high school (I still dream at night about playing) and won Female Athlete of the Year in grade 12, which was a BIG surprise!

2. I eat chocolate chips by the child-size handful. And am currently craving oatmeal chocolate chip cookies (and will be baking a batch tonight!).

3. I love pumpkin soup, cake, ice cream, etc. But I strongly dislike pumpkin pie.

4. I have 316 6×6-inch denim squares. That’s nearly twice the square footage of our apartment. I really need to make a quilt or something.

5. I have 2 large bins of baby clothes and baby accessories. I am really excited to be a mum one day!

6. I fear toe cracking. Conor always jokes about cracking my toes or tells me he really wants to crack them and I shiver with terror. However, I’m fine with cracking his toes when he gets his favourite foot rubs.

7. I hate the smell of lilacs. To me they smell like mucus. Pretty flower, but I can’t stand them!

Okay well I’m going to break a rule. I read 4 blogs religiously… Daria’s, Elizabeth’s, Julie’s and Freshly Baked. That’s about it. None of my friends are “settled down” enough to have blogs. So I have no one to tag! They’ve all been tagged. I’m a little sad. However I hope you had an enjoyable time getting to know me a little bit more!

No I didn’t forget that I have already like posted today, but I swear I’ve like forgotten like everything else. Like the mail key when I like specifically told myself I was going to check the mail when I like paid rent. Duh. And like so many other things have I like forgotten today. I’m so like blond and ditzy today. Like to the max. And like if I keep on being sooo forgetful and like bare in the brain I just may have to like do nothing for like the rest of the day.
