Conor and I miss each other out here. We don’t really get to spend a buttload of time together to be quite honesto. Last night, we “hung out” till pretty late. It started with just getting ready for bed, talking about our day… and then before we knew it we didn’t want to go to bed. We wanted to spend time together. We played a couple rounds of Life (Conor is such a spaz when the game isn’t going fabulous for even a moment!) and then Conor decided that he was stttarrvvving and wanted pizza. So there we were computer and phonebook out looking for a 24 hour pizza place. Unfortunately we had to settle for the dollar menu at McDonalds at 2:45 in the morning. We also picked up “Breach” from the redbox. So then there we are at home watching a movie until Conor started to fall asleep at 4 am (I gave up as soon as we put the movie in and closed my eyes, but never truly fell asleep). And then it was bedtime. Hallelujah! Needless to say, we slept in this morning. We don’t think we can both continue to serve in the temple unfortunately. We feel as though we are running faster than we have strength. Anyways. Last night it felt like we were dating together and we’d rather stay up really late than say goodbye. And I mean REALLY late (our parents can give testimonials of how many late nights we spent together). It was just so much fun. I am really glad we did that! It’s always so satisfying to spend time with my man!

Last night the sunset was GORGEOUS! Everything was golden outside. Quite frankly it was incredible. In the Northwest the sun was setting and there was blew sky, but in the southeast there were dark dark clouds. Somehow the sunset still managed to add a bit of colour to the dark clouds. I ran outside and took some photos! It was a beautiful evening!
Saturday was a long day. I was in the office for just over 12 hours. Hello brutal. Luckily Conor and I got to have a bit of fun in the evening. On our way home we popped into Target and bought the game of life as well as mancala. So we played a couple rounds (of Life). The first game, I won and retired with over one million dollars, but I had NO children. Not even one!!! That just wouldn’t do. Conor wanted to play again because he lost. I wanted to play again because I didn’t want the first game to be a bad omen. Thank goodness I had a full vehicle the second round. Whew. I even had twins. Conor was satisfied with the second round because he won and I was satisfied because I wound up with children.
Last night we had friends over (yay we have friends!) for dinner and then played the game of life again. It was pretty hilarious. One thing that I really miss about home is student family housing and all of our friends there. That was truly the best place to live. We had so much fun playing cards, cranium, watching movies, going to the young married’s seminar at institute, and having spontaneous Sunday dinners. I don’t know if we’ll be able to find that kind of environment here. Maybe we’ll just have to initiate one? Calgary is definitely the place that I want to live for the rest of my life… and retire with over one million dollars… and a vehicle full of kids.
I don’t even know what to think of Noah’s haircut! It’s the craziest thing ever! I’m shocked not only that Daria cut his hair, but further shocked at how much he looks like his blonde brothers under there. Conor and I were in awe at the same Joshy look that Noah can give, and the same [surprising] innocence that he has like Brigs. Wow. I can’t help but remember the story of Uncle Dougie (or was it Aunt Coco?) shaving off Conor’s childhood locks! I guess Noah is a man now!
A lot happens here and it kind of just slips away in general. Conor and I feel burnt out most of the time. I have a summer cold that’s kicking my butt. Luckily I can do all of this computer stuff just chilling in bed. Last night at the office I definitely was not all together at all. It was a little bit brutal! I felt bad for everyone else working with me. Yesterday Conor and I saw a little bit of downtown. We went to this congress building. It was so beautiful. The detailing was to the moon. We really need to just spend a day taking pictures. The only thing ugly about this city is the smog. Other than that it’s a truly pretty city. I’ve seen some gorgeous sunsets and the mountains are an attractive sight. I definitely recommend visiting this city.
