Oh my word, time is slipping through my fingers. At seven months, Greta is rolling and pivoting all. over. the. place! She gets into so much and I have to keep a close eye on her. Every now and then she lifts her entire body off the ground and uses only her hands and toes to hold her up. Greta can sit up all by herself, however, I like to keep something behind her still because she will topple and she will cry. She's still not sleeping through the night. But in the last couple days, she's finally getting how to eat solid foods although anything but sweet potatoes makes her gag. I think one of the best things about this month is that her bald spot is growing in and rapidly disapearing!

We're no longer taking photos of Greta lying on her back because she just flips on over to her tummy, so we'll do sitting up photos from here on out!

I really wanted a way to document my children's artistic abilities as they grow and have art they've made that's worth keeping and will keep well. My solution? Each year, around my children's birthday, starting at age 2, they'll get to create a piece of art on canvas. I loved doing this with Holly and I adore the result. I think that one day we'll have a very interesting collage. I found this to be a really affordable option especially since I don't have to frame the canvas. I also made a complimentary piece using this tutorial. I'm dying over the metallic art pieces that are shown in the tutorial's example, but as I mentioned yesterday, I'm quickly running out of wall space!

I think these may be the cutest photos I've taken to date of my darling girls. For the last month, I've been trying out lightroom and then I bought it! Hopefully you've noticed an improvement of my photos recently. I love taking pictures. I need to learn my camera better and that's next up on my list of self-improvement (that, and rock climbing). I'm sharing my very favourites with you, but you can see the whole set here. Let me know which one is your favourite. I need to pick one of each of the girls so I can frame it big. We haven't hung anything on our walls yet, but I'm already wishing for more wall space!

... with homemade pizza. There's something extra delicious to me about pizza made from scratch and by hand.

We're slowly getting to know the area that we live in especially the parks. Moving here has made me realize what an awesome park system Denver had - there were so many! But here, the parks are mostly really nice. The first one we ever went to felt like a joke to me. The 60's called, they want their worn out, unsafe park back. But the other parks we've been to since are really great and every park has been well maintained and most have public washrooms. Anyways, we love going to the park, breathing in the fresh air and getting all tired out before naptime. I recently put Greta in the swing and she loved it. She was giggling and smiling the whole time. She especially loved having Holly in the swing beside her. Greta adores Holly. I do wish that we had a park within a 10-15 minute walk from us. In Denver there were 4 parks that we could easily walk to from our home. Here, the closest is 20 minutes away but that's the '60's park. I'm fine to walk 25-30 minutes both ways, but that doesn't quite jive with Greta's nap schedule. So in about a year we'll be able to walk to the park! Until then, it's fine for us to hop into the car and drive.
