Leila&Holly

Holly has a friend! Leila is hands-on and Holly is an observer so I think they balance each other out nicely! (In this picture it kind of looks the other way around though doesn’t it?) And it’s always fun for me to have a fellow mother to chit chat with while the babies play.

The first Sunday of the New Year I wore this dress. I made it myself, Butterick 5132, although I did do a couple things different. I used a knit rather than a woven and vetoed the zipper making this dress rather comfortable. It’s a nice and easy one to slip on, perfect for 9 AM church!

Purple Knit Dress

Holly’s second gift from Conor and I was a taggy ball that I made for her. It was really easy, although getting the ball to be perfectly round seemed to elude me. Still it turned out fine and Holly likes it. I used this free ball pattern and added into the seams rick-rack, ribbon and grosgrain ribbon of different widths and colours. I recommend making most of the ribbons long enough for baby’s hand to slip into a grab.

This is a super easy project and only took me about a half hour to complete! And it’s baby shower perfect!

This is my absolute favourite photo of my Maternal Grandmother. I’m so grateful to be named after her. This is soo my Granny, in the outdoors and still beautiful. I grew up walking through coolies with her and riding her horse and going to Waterton. Definitely an ideal childhood!

Mom Camping

Thanks Mom for the photo!

Conor, Holly and I had a wonderful Christmas in Calgary. We really enjoyed being with family. Holly loved all the attention that she received from her older cousins and did end up enjoying Felix and was rather interested in Lola as long as Lola wasn’t crying.

Some of our highlights included: Holly intentionally rolling over and beginning to get her knees under her bottom. Will she crawl soon? Playing lots of games with family. My BF’s wedding reception. And of course, spending time with family.

Despite the 16 days we spent in Calgary, there were things that went undone. Next time right? So glad we could come! Thanks Mom and Dad!
