The last time I lived in Calgary, I was a Primary teacher and taught the CTR 6 class. For the majority of my time as the teacher, I had a group of all girls. Looking back, I really enjoyed it even though I often felt inadequate and wondered if what I was teaching was being absorbed. Today, I received a card and a homemade snowflake magnet in the mail from one little girl that was in my class thanking me for being a “great” teacher. Isn’t that just the sweetest thing? I’m unable to put into words how touched and special I felt.
I really do like Relief Society. It gets sappy sometimes, but despite all that, I still like it. This morning was our Stake Enrichment Activity and wow, did Arapahoe go to town! First off, so I don’t seem too worldly and like a bottomless pit, we did some service projects; receiving blankets, newborn nighties, clothe diapers, quilt tying, etc. Now let me get to the crazy part. A “light luncheon” was served, but it wasn’t all that light. It was CATERED, which equals savoury chicken crepes followed by cinnamon apple crepes. Mmhmm! They were good (although the crepes we had in Montreal were to die for, nothing can compare to those!). Relief Society really knows how to get ‘er done! Needless to say, you will never see me intentionally miss out on an Arapahoe Stake Relief Society activity. No way Jose!
PS: I’m so going to make a few nighties for the baby!
I love it when Conor sends me links to cute baby things like these shoes, and adds that I should make them. I also love it when Conor checks out strollers with me online and then finds a local retailer so we can go and take ‘em for a spin.
I’m one lucky ducky!
I feel frustrated when I run out of fabric. It is so irritating to me! Such is the case right now. I purchased the correct amount, according to the back of my pattern, of some really great quality cotton (super cute), pre-washed it, and laid the pattern out only to discover I don’t have enough! I took another trip to the fabric store today only to find that this fabric is sold out. Guess I wasn’t the only one that loved it. I am now watching all my sewing motivation fly out the window!
Well, I reckon I’ll bake up some cookies instead.
