I feel really sad to be leaving the ward! I never ever wanted to have a Primary calling that required Sunday School and Relief Society time, but now that I have one, I don’t want anything else! I LOVE my little CTR 5 class. They are so cute! And being in primary brings such a new light to the Gospel. It’s kind of like when I took my Temple Prep class. It was all basics, but basics aren’t really taught in the same way as we get older.

Perhaps that’s why I wore a black dress this week, or maybe I wore the black dress because I sewed it and finished it earlier this week. Hard to tell!

Last night Conor and I went to an art show with 3 of our favourite people – Jon, Natalia and Hendrix. It was a really cool show too! It was an exhibit of an artist commonly known as “Bigfoot,” simply because his art is of bigfoot with a graffiti art feel. Bigfoot himself was there at a desk, signing posters, which was all he did. He hardly noticed when adorable Hendrix said, “hi.” He looked like such a tormented artist, long, black, wavy hair and facial hair, skinny jeans, high tops, all black. Basically a punk, but our companions told us that Bigfoot is all about natural; he’s a vegan, etc. Some of his art I dislike (like the subtle planting pot of marijuana that says “legalize”), but most of it is so neat. It was such a party atmosphere too – a bar, deejay, a fire outside on the curb (with chainsaws and logs). Anyways, it was a super fun evening!

Well I hate packing (does anyone like it?). And now I have to do it all over again. It’s worth it though. Wait, one thing I do like about packing is the de-junking that gets done hand-in-hand. Yes, I do like de-junking and purging very much. It’s a feel good activity for me. Ha! I haven’t started packing yet, but I think I will on Saturday. You know, just start with the stuff that isn’t used often, like books. And I’ll hit the closets. I’m so glad I’ve had packing experience. I’m trying to remember it all… Martha Stewart’s Homekeeping Handbook has packing tips so I’ll skim over that sometime soon. PLEASE share your packing tips! I would so appreciate them!

Be careful of what you wish for because sometimes it comes true! Due to unfortunate fortunate visa events, Conor and I get to come home to Calgary for a whole 6 months! I am off the wall excited to see my family again. I just can’t even say how stinking excited I am! I get to come home on March 18 and Conor will follow about one week later. I am so thrilled. For about an hour Conor and I thought that perhaps we would be separated for that six months and just the idea was enough to send us both to a depressed state, but then we found out that we could just go to Canada together and continue being the world’s happiest couple! Yay! Conor and I feel quite all right with this turn of events. I am always amazed at how perfectly my family’s life has been mapped out by my Heavenly Father; yes amazed and grateful. I feel so blessed! I can’t wait to see everyone!

I am hungry all the time these days and so it seems appropriate to share a great meal! I made this one last night and found the recipe in the instructions to my Hamilton Beach Electric Frying Pan. Oh my goodness! It was delicious! I’m sure that it can easily be made with a large pan on the stove. Enjoy!

Creamy Chicken and Asparagus

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1/2″ strips
1 lb. fresh asparagus, trimmed
1 container (8 oz.) sour cream
1 tbsp. butter, melted
2 tsp. dried dill weed
1 tbsp. lemon juice
4 cups hot cooked noodles

How To:
Preheat griddle to 350F. Spray skillet with vegetable cooking spray. Add chicken. Cook and stir for 2 to 3 minutes. Add asparagus. Cook and stir and additional 3 to 4 minutes or until asparagus is crisp-tender, and chicken is no longer pink.

In a small bowl, blend sour cream, butter and dill. Stir into chicken mixture. Reduce heat to 225F and continue cooking and stirring until chicken in thoroughly heated. Do not boil. Stir in lemon juice. Serve over hot noodles. Serves 4-5.

Oh and make sure that you describe this meal right like, “chicken and asparagus in a creamy dill sauce served over hot noodles.” Ha! Conor loved this one!
