While my mom was visiting, we went to Natural Bridges State Beach to see the monarch butterflies. They stop in Santa Cruz along their migratory route between Canada and Mexico. It was a beautiful sight to see all those butterflies. We even witnessed a "burst." The girls were semi-interested. Ha. Afterwards, we went to the beach and stayed until we were too chilly and tired to stay any longer. It was a pretty, sunny day, but that wind off the ocean can be nippy! Oh and in very exciting news, Greta finally likes the ocean! She used to cry and cry if I even so much as held her while I put my feet in the ocean and heaven forbid her toes touched that salt water. Nowadays, she's running in and out and absolutely loving it. It's so exciting! I'm so grateful to live where we do. There's so many beautiful and wonderful things to see!

Greta's dream came true. She is a ballerina. My mom bought her the cutest and tiniest ballet shoes and a leotard and tights. Greta looks extra cute and soft and chubby in her leotard, which I absolutely love! The class that Greta is taking is a Mommy and Me class so I get to participate with her. Greta was the perfectl student. She wanted to follow the teacher around and do absolutely everything she was doing. Greta's a natural and participated 100%. It was a half hour of pure happiness for Gigi! 

My mom's come and gone. It always feels like such a long wait for her to arrive and then the time flies by while she's here. We kept busy, but not quite as busy as I would've liked. Naps and sensitive children sure can get in the way of a busy schedule. So can colds and rain. But, we still managed to pack in a couple sight-seeing days and had lots of quality time. Conor and I even got to sneak in a movie. I love it when my mom comes for a visit! Holly was fascinated by the fact that Granny is my Momma.

In the meantime, I sent in my a roll of black and white film last week (my first roll of black and white). It's so high contrast, moody, interesting and different; I'm dying! Conor especially loves the photos. He makes me feel like I've really got some talent or something. Conor's the best. I just want to share some of my favorite photos of Greta from the roll. Can I really determine a favorite photo? I don't know. There's just something about that ponytail, and those cute teeth (never knew teeth could be so cute until Greta grew them), and big dark eyes. Motherhood is so sweet.
