Conor finished school in December and had his graduation ceremonies yesterday (he now has a Bachelor of Science). It was realy great to see him walk across the stage - I felt so proud. Conor is such a smart man, he graduated suma cum laude. I'm so glad we went to the ceremony. It wasn't easy, I nearly went home when I couldn't find anywhere to park. Fortunately, a parking spot opened up just as I was about to completely give up! Holly was so well behaved and Greta slept the whole time, which was a relief, because I was solo.

Little Greta Elizabeth is so cute and a very agreeable baby. She loves to be held and I spend a lot of time each day holding her. She cries often if she's put down, but stops immediately upon being picked up. It's really gratifying to have her stop crying as soon as I pick her up - I love it! She's a real cuddler. Fortunately, Greta is okay to sleep in her own bed at night. Often, she still joins me (or Conor) in my bed in the early morning for our last stretch of snoozing.

Greta will not take a soother at all. We've tried 5 different types and she refuses and acts like they're the most disgusting thing ever. She's a bit of a snob that way.

Greta is getting so big. On Wednesday, she weighed 7 lbs 10 oz. I've dressed her in some 0-3 month clothing in the last week, which are still pretty big on her. She's definitely getting great use out of her newborn sized clothing.

Greta might have hip dysplasia. The next step is getting an ultrasound done on her hips. I'm hoping that she doesn't have it, however I wouldn't be surprised if she did because I've had so much trouble and pain in my hips over the years. The sling or harness that Greta would have to wear for the first 6 weeks (about) is definitely awkward and less than stylish. We'll see what happens...

In the meantime, lookit how cute my baby is when she's sleeping!

Yesterday was my birthday - I turned 23. I'm still so young eh? It was a good day. Greta had a doctor's appointment (more on that later) and we played at the park. Holly's an outdoor junkie so we went to a little park before Greta's appointment for 20 minutes and then we went to another park for almost an hour and a half afterwards. Yesterday was so beautiful and warm - Holly has tan lines now.

Conor gave me a really great gift - some giftcards that I can only use to buy clothing. Hallelujah. My wardrobe needs a pick-up so badly. I'm so glad that's what Conor gave me! Now we need to go shopping!

Even though I'm exhausted (Conor woke me up last night to feed Greta because her wailing wasn't doing the trick - oops!) and my house is messy most of the time, I'm really happy with where I am in my life. It's so fun to be a SAHM and go to the park and be all domestic. It's totally up my alley. Life is good.

I have a really funny Holly story to share with you. Holly and I had just come downstairs and as usual, she got distracted at the bottom of the stairs playing with something. I had already gone into my bedroom and begun tidying when I heard a panicked Holly saying, "uh-oh." I came to see what was the matter. She had to most awkward stance - halfway squatting with her knees and thighs tightly together. She was standing on the swiffer rod so I thought she was uh-ohing about dropping it and stepping on it. I picked it up and passed it to her. But no, the awkward stance and uncomfortable ehing and uh-ohing continued. I told her to come on and play and as she took an uneasy squat-step, her diaper dropped to the floor. Holly was uh-ohing because her diaper was coming off. I think she was embarassed. I thought it was hilarious!

This morning I was looking at potties. I think we're really close to being ready to potty train. The other morning, Holly was sitting on her floor, her one-piece pajamas unbottoned and removed except for around her ankles. She had a few wipes pulled out and ready to go, and she was tugging on her diaper. It looked as though she intended to change her own diaper! If she's poopy she feels uncomfortable and has been known to bring us wipes and then lay down on the floor and wait. She's always eager and willing to have her diaper changed. It's so exciting to think that I might be diapering only one bottom soon...

I put Greta in her itty bitty pettiskirt - she's so sweet!
