I made Maeve a second Smock Dress, this one in cotton and without sleeves for summer (the first was long sleeved and made from flannel). The fabric I used was from what I already owned. It's leftovers from a dress I made for Greta. I love this pattern. It feels so classic and sweet. I like the princess seams and big pockets. It's a simple dress, but more interesting than others. And, it comes together pretty easily!
Ornaments, nightgowns and this quilt were the items I made for Christmas gifts. I backed this quilt in flannel which is the new must for every quilt I make. It makes the quilt extra cozy! This was a gift for someone I watch over at church. It may have been me serving in my style, but it was service nonetheless.
Holly and Greta had so much fun sewing up these felt ornaments. We used this template (printed at 120%). I can imagine us sewing up these ornaments again next year too!
This is my new favorite pattern! The Wilksten Smock Dress. Maeve is going to be on the receiving end of many of these dresses over the next 5 or so years. I love this pattern! I sewed up this one with some cute flannel. Maeve is obsessed with pockets and will sometimes get really upset if she doesn't have pockets. The big pockets on this dress are a huge win. Overall the pattern came together quickly and smoothly. The topstitching detail is a big win in my books. Love this look on my girl!
I kind of, sort of wish that it came in big enough sizes for Holly and Greta but at the same time I'm relieved it doesn't. There's just only so many hours in a day!
I recently sewed up this little rollerskate tunic for Maeve from Halloween fabric I had bought last year for costumes. I had just enough for the tunic length, I couldn't squeeze out the dress length. This fabric is so fun, I really like it and maybe I wish I had bought more? I made Maeve's little hair bow too. It's fun to sew little things for this girl. Next up, her birthday dress!
I've made at least 10 dresses for the Oliver and S Rollerskate pattern, but probably somewhere closer to 15. It's the perfect play dress. And while Maeve's tunic is a little large on her (surprise!), this pattern typically fits so nicely.
