“Strawberries”
The timing of the strawberries seem to vary quite a bit every year. I remember 4 years ago, we were picking strawberries in July (Maeve wore a bonnet and Enoch was brand new to our family!). This year it's mid-June. We picked a stormy Saturday to drive to a u-pick farm and despite the weather, I'd say we did alright! And I got these cute pictures so that's a win in my books!
We're solidly in the phase of life where sometimes one older kid is doing something away from us and so it's not always the entire family. I'm trying to lean in to their independence and relationships, but I missed Greta.
It's pretty hot here in the PNW. Last week, we picked the coolest day, woke up early (summer early anyways) and the girls and I picked strawberries before the day got too warm. We left the babies at home with Conor and had a delightful morning together. My big girls are really cool and wonderful. And they're at an age where they actually help picking strawberries, unlike Maeve, who only consumes. I'm glad we made it out to the strawberry fields. These little berries are the best!
Here we are last year picking berries. I can hardly believe we're repeating activities with our little man, E! I love him so much!
Strawberry picking at Greenbluff is a must do! The strawberries are these itty bitty things about the size of a thimble, but they are so sweet and flavorful! No other strawberries compare to these. We've picked fruit and berries of all sorts of variety lots of times with these friends. I love that they are such an integrated part of our lives.
