This day may have been my favorite. We all played so hard together and the water was perfect. Clearer than the other beaches we’d been at and it stayed shallow for a longer distance and that made it easy for the children to play in the water.
At one time, I had Greta on my back and I was helping Holly with the boogie board. It was a perfect Mom moment to me and I loved playing in the water and laughing with my children.
I probably got the most enjoyment from the boogie board. I loved watching Holly ride the waves and the lingo she used. “Let’s catch this one!” She was too much! I was so proud of how brave she was and of her persistence. It was a really special beach day.
We so enjoyed the Safari Park. It was more walking per animal exhibit than the zoo, but was definitely worth the visit. We saw the Cheetah run and did the tram tour. Seeing Rhinos was so fun for me. My Mom took us kids to the zoo all the time (thanks Mom!) and I loved seeing the rhinoceros. At some point he was taken away from breeding and I was sad when he left. Seeing rhinos was this flood of memories for me! We saw a baby rhino nursing too.
The tiger exhibit was top notch! It was easy to see tigers from multiple angles.
We really enjoyed ourselves!
These photos are from our second trip to Coronado Beach. Boogie boarding, playing in the sand, playing together... what more could I want?
We're back from our trip to San Diego and I'm so sad. We had the best time! I did not want it to end. Of course we had some hard times when it was not so fun, like when our car battery died completely, but it was still impossible to not be cheerful about it because we were predisposed to enjoying our trip no matter what it seems. Honestly, it was the very best of vacations and I'm dying to go back!
On our drive home, I could not, would not leave southern California without squeezing in some more beach time. We stopped at Huntington Beach on the way home and had our last little bit of fun. I felt very sorry to leave. More photos of our trip to come...
We're in the last half of our San Diego trip and we're having the best time. I was nervous about being here for so long (9 nights), but we're definitely in no hurry to get home. We're so enjoying our leisurely family time! I've taken LOTS of photos as per usual. Here's a few of my daughters ready to leave for their beach time. Oh these girls. This vacation has been so special - I want to get started right away on planning another one!
