“Summertime”
This may well be the highlight of our summer. I booked a night at the Quartz Mountain Fire Lookout in Mount Spokane State Park and Holly, Greta and I went on a little trip just the three of us. We had to hike in, which was so fun, and the kids did great! The fire lookout has an incredible view and the terrain up there was so pretty and interesting. We played a ton of games, ate jiffypop and watched the sun set and woke up early in the morning. It was a pretty glorious trip! I had so much fun playing and being with my daughters. This was a surefire momma victory. The cherry on top is all the huckleberries we picked!
Before our best friends left for Spain for the last month of summer (what? I know!), we met at the Splashpad for a picnic and some play time. We miss them like crazy and can't wait until they come back. Until then.. check out this cute crew!
We went back to Yahk for a weekend to drop Holly and Greta off for kidcation. We played pretty hard when we were there. We went to Kootenay Lake twice and we found a hike to go on. My sister and her family were out there too so there was lots of cousin bonding and laughs. And Chef Blakey fed us all like kings!

Heritage Park
We spent an afternoon at Heritage Park. It's a cute little spot and the kids loved it. Our trip did include a big rainstorm (of course!), but we made the best of it. I always leave Calgary wondering if I should buy a membership to the zoo or Heritage Park.

Model Trains
One of our days in Calgary, we went to a train park in Airdrie. Our visited was interrupted by a very intense rain storm, but we got back on the trains and took a couple rides. The kids loved it! This place is run by a club of train enthusiasts and the trains are all one-eighth of their life size counterparts. It was a cute little spot.
After riding the trains, we went to Strathmore to see Gramma. We ate pizza and played and my family left early because Maeve was losing her mind. Real life!
