This past Sunday was my birthday. I was grateful to kind of have a weekend because things have been really busy and stressful around here. It was great to take a break! Friday night, I went out for pedicures and ice cream with my friend Kelly Lee. I don't know when I last had a pedicure, so I felt extra pampered. I feel happy every time I look down at my well polished toes.

On Saturday, Conor and I went wall/rock climbing at Planet Granite. I have never done it, but I've really wanted to give it a try for the last 3-5 years. It was just as scary as I anticipated (I'm fearful of heights), and it was really exhilarating! Each climb was like another shot of adrenaline! It was a lot of fun and I'm grateful that I've been building strength - I think that really helped. After climbing, we went and grabbed some pizza and ice cream (noticing a theme?). And chatted, nothing work related. It was amazing.

On Sunday, we were a little unsure of how the day would go. Our girls woke up tired and a little edgy (growth spurts?), and we were late to church. Things continued to be a little grumpy and everyone grew edgy. We decided to push through and still go to the beach and everything really was much better when we got there. We met up with friends, so the kids had littles to play with and I had adult women to talk with. It was fantastic! There were definitely some bumps this weekend, but overall it was positive. Thank you to everyone who did something to make it special!

The weather was amazing this last weekend and has continued to be gorgeous into this week. Holly, Greta and I planted our spring garden on Saturday - I'm hoping to get something out of it, especially since I spent my spending money on it! We spent most of the weekend outside in the backyard. On Sunday, I made cauliflower crust pizza and we picnicked outdoors. It was dreamy...

On a completely unrelated note, I'm considering blogging about some of the things that mean a lot to me... like how we eat, fitness, my journey to finding calm and peace... who knows if I'll write it, there's a lot of critics out there (especially towards vegetarians!).

Just because these two are so cute together!

Greta's horse dress is pretty much the same as Holly's dress. I made similar changes to the pattern to get what I wanted. I did choose to make the dress a little longer than I typically make dresses. It took a bit of bribery to get Greta into the dress for a couple pictures. I really love it on her and I'm hopeful she'll get a good amount of use out of it! I've noticed a pattern with my girls. Sometimes a dress doesn't become really loved until it's been hanging in their closet for 6 months minimum. And typically, that means the season has already passed...

This is the third scout tee I've made, although it's been a couple years since I made the first two. The fabric I used, I bought from Britex over a year ago for something crazy like $35/yard. I love it. It's super soft, italian cotton (hand wash only, but it did ok in my machine on delicate). Again, this tee is so easy to sew up - it takes me something like an hour and a half, start to finish. I feel like it's a good one, and it was fantastic to sew something for myself. I need to do more of that.
